Introduction

Maugdog Incorporated is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of our users and provides this Privacy Policy to describe the data that we collect and the ways that we use it. By using any of Maugdog's services, including but not limited to mobile applications or one of our websites, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Please periodically check for updates to this policy, as we reserve the right to make changes to it at any time.

Information that we collect, and how we use it

Users with Accounts - Any information that you provide during the account creation or update process is subject to be saved for account identification, authentication, Service enhancement and maintenance purposes. This may include but is not limited data such as name, email address, and "username". Account passwords are stored in a hashed human-unreadable form.

iOS users - If you play one of our games on an Apple iOS device, then you may be subject to automatic account generation. In such a case your Game Center ID, profile picture, and "username" may be stored for feature enhancement, and possibly shared with other users for the purpose of multiplayer matchmaking, leaderboards and achievement displays.

Facebook users - If you choose to enable Facebook features in any of our games, then your name, email address, profile picture, Facebook ID, gender, and locality data retrieved from Facebook may be stored for user identification, multiplayer matchmaking, Service enhancement, maintenance, and de-identified (aggregated) research purposes.

Web users and credit card information - If you use our web-based Services and choose to make purchases via credit card then your billing information may be stored by our payment processor. We do not store any billing or credit card information ourselves, but rather use a trusted merchant services provider called "Stripe". Stripe is a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) and Payment Application Data Security Standards (PA-DSS) compliant merchant service and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1 security standards. You can learn more about their privacy policy and terms by visiting their website at www.stripe.com.

In general, to improve our games, we collect information about the devices on which they are installed. This may include your device's unique identifier, hardware type, operating system, in-game checkpoints, and bug information.

To help gather some of this information, we may use a service called TestFlight Live. By interacting with one of our games or apps on an iOS device, you may be subject to the TestFlight Privacy Policy as well.

Our websites may also collect usage information. Examples of such data include browser and operating system type, IP address, access time/duration, and page viewing information. We collect this information to study our web traffic and tune our sites for better performance and improved user experience.

Keep in mind that we are likely to store and use any data that you submit to forms on our websites or in our applications. While we will not save sensitive information into cookies (mmmmmm... cookies), you should be aware that other (non-sensitive) data may be saved into cookies on the accessing device's local storage. We do this to provide a better, more convenient, website experience to you.

Sharing of your information

Your information will never be sold to a 3rd party. It may however, be shared with a 3rd party for the sole purpose of enhancing user experience under the following, limited, circumstances:

  1. Third Party Service Providers - We may provide your data to 3rd party service providers who are contracted to perform services on our behalf. This may include but is not limited to payment processing, email delivery, hosting services, and assistance with our own internal research. All such Service Providers are reviewed to ensure that rigorous privacy standards are maintained in accordance with those described in this Privacy Policy. Your data will never be shared with them for any purpose other than to provide services on our behalf.
  2. Your Friends and Other Players - Because some of our games are social in nature, there may exist an inherent need to display your name, username, and/or profile picture for identification purposes in certain in-game features. These features are only accessible to your friends and other registered players. Whenever possible, Maugdog makes the best effort to use your public username rather than any other personal identifiers.
  3. Sale or Merger - In the event that Maugdog undergoes a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, We may transfer all of your information, including personal information, to the successor organization. If Maugdog's privacy practices will change as a result of said event, we will notify you and other users prior to transferring your personal information.

If you are a California resident and are inquiring about California Privacy laws, it should be specifically noted that we do not disclose any personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes.
